Ned
Ned has learned bits and pieces about the Lannister secret.
Sansa recognizes that Joffrey is nothing like the King, and he realizes that Bran must have stumbled upon the secret somehow…
He has his interim household guard take him to the Godswood and then delivers a message to the Queen. She came alone at sunset. Ned admits his knowledge to her. She admits the truth to Ned, openly, unashamed. She admits that all of her children are Jaime’s. He asks her why she hates Robert. She admits that Robert had called her by Lyanna’s name DURING their wedding night consummation…
Ned warns her and says that she should take her children, brothers and father and flee to the free cities. He intends to lay the truth before the King upon his return from the hunt. She basically says “no.”

Jon
Benjen Stark is still missing.
Jon hears news of the promotions of his group of recruits, excluding Sam. He demands an audience of Maester Aemon and tries to convince him to include Sam in the promotion as a steward for the Maester. Aemon says it’s out of his hands.
The boys are all promoted and both Sam and Jon receive the titles of “steward”. Sam will be the Maester’s steward, and Jon is to be steward to the Commander. Jon is angered by this apparent insult, but Sam helps him realize that the Commander is grooming Jon as Heir Commander. Jon feels embarrassed and ashamed at having missed the point.

Ned

Ned wants to tell him that Joffrey isn’t his… but he can’t. Ned writes the King’s will. True to the book. Including change of mind of dany’s assassination, ned writing “my heir” instead of joffrey, and also Varys stating that the Lannister boy gave the King his wine.
Renly speaks privately with Ned, telling him to capture Joff, Tommen, and Myrcella to hold hostage against Cersei. Ned refuses. Renly dissuades the notion of Stannis Baratheon taking the kingdom, but suggests himself, instead.
He sends for Littlefinger immediately in his room. He makes travel arrangements for his daughters to sail to winterfell.
He plans to stop at Dragonstone on the way North to deliver a letter to Stannis Baratheon..Littlefinger enters. He also dissuades Ned from passing power to Stannis. Ned asks littlefinger to gain the side of the Gold Cloaks.

Dany
Dany and the Khal talk about the Iron throne. Drogo thinks its dumb and doesn’t think a King needs a chair. Dany tries to help him understand.
Dany talks with Jorah trying to make him make Drogo understand. He tells her not to be impatient and make her brothers mistake of demanding anything of the Khal. He offers to take her to the market to cheer her up. He leaves her in the market with the others.
Dany is offered poisoned wine and tries to take it. Jorah makes the man open the wine for a drink, and Dany commands him to drink it. He runs, trying to escape and is caught.
Jorah tells her that King Robert/Usurper has sent for her assassination.
The Khal enters after his hunt, having killed a white lion and brought its body back. Dany tells him what happened and he promises before all that he will give the iron throne to his son and take the lands of the earth. The wine merchant walks, tied naked by neck and wrists to Dany’s horse, behind the party, walking on foot.

Ghost goes with Jon. They find the beautiful 9 trees in the wolfswood and Sam and Jon kneel together to recite their vows. When they finish, Ghost returns, having found a hand, carrying it in his mouth.

Ned
Maester Pycelle enters to declare the King’s death. Ned calls the council to his quarters. Barristan is first, asking to be released so he can guard Joffrey. Littlefinger is next, stating that Ned’s request has been fulfilled. Varys follows and states that Renly has left the city with Loras Tyrell and his 50+ men. Ned presents the King’s sealed will to the counsel. Before they get a chance to confirm their fealty, king Joffrey summons them all to the throne room… Cersei rips the letter of the will. All of the gold cloaks turn on Ned and his men. Littlefinger tells Ned that he warned Ned not to trust him…
