Ned
Ned sits in a dungeon cell beneath the Red Keep. Starved and suffering, Lord Varys enters. He asks Ned why he talked to Cersei. Ned explained about honor and duty.. Varys tells him more of how the Queen orchestrated the King’s death.
They discuss Ned’s options as the Queen intends to visit him.. Varys says that if he doesn’t apologize, both he and Sansa will be killed. Ned learns of Sansa’s pleas for mercy on his behalf. He learns that Cat no longer holds T hostage and understands that he’s a dead man now. He wonders why the Queen is keeping him alive, even though barely. Ned is locked away again with only this to think about.

Catelyn
Brynden is responsible for preventing the Ravens to deliver news to outsiders.
Robb’s men are stopped at the Fray’s gates, at the mercy of Walder Frey. Cat has to enter and bargain with Walder Frey.
He is a vile man, disgusting.
Eventually, he agrees to let them cross under MANY conditions, including: Cat was to foster two of his grandsons in Winterfell; Robb was to take another of his boys as a squire, to knight him in time; Arya was promised and betrothed to another of his sons; and Robb was betrothed to one of his daughters. Only then did Walder let them pass.

Jon
The commander thanks Jon for saving his life by passing his family sword down to Jon, the sword meant for Jorah. Jons friends are all so excited about his new sword because they all had a hand in preparing it for him (recreating the sigil, the handle, etc).
Sam is not so excited as he has to share bad news with Jon. Robb has gone to war.
The Maester advises him to let go of past relationships and connections.

Dany
Drogo’s wound festers and weakens him. He falls off of his horse, a sign to his men that he can no longer lead them.
They set up camp and treat Drogo in a tent privately, Jorah explaining that he’s as good as dead.
Dany refuses to accept and begs the healer to do anything in her power to fix him.
She performs the blood magic. She tells Dany to leave, no one must enter the tent.
Jorah fights qotho and wins.
Dany begins labor. Jorah takes Dany into the tent.

Tyrion
Tyrion sits to eat with his father and uncle.
Tywin mocks him and says he will serve in the vanguard (front of the lines) in the battle with his savages. Tyrion leaves angrily and find his clansmen and Bronn by the fire with a girl, Shae.
He takes Shae into his tent and they talk and then make love.
Bronn and Tyrion are becoming good friends. This is where Tyrion shares his story about his wedding as a young man, though in the book, it was shared in private only to Bronn while on the highroad before encountering the free men.
The battle begins and Tyrion takes his clansmen and guards the river nervously. He fights and kills several men and a horse, somehow avoiding death himself. Bronn finds him and helps him get his horse. The Lannisters win the battle, taking captive some of the Stark’s commanders.

Meanwhile, another battle begins between Jamie and Robb, in which Robb wins and captures Jamie as prisoner.
Arya
Arya is becoming self-reliant and clever. She hunts pigeons and bargains in the market. Suddenly, everyone is running past her and she follows. She sees her father on a raised platform with Sansa, Cersei, and Joffrey and his council/guards.
Ned confesses lies of having betrayed the “true king Joffrey” before all people.
Joffrey demands his head.
Yoren finds Arya and forces her not to look. Sansa screams and fights to stop him, helplessly grounded by the Hound.
Ned is beheaded…
