Easy Everything Bagels (High Protein)

I love carbs!! I love the crunch of toasted bread, and these everything bagels are homemade heaven🤤

I have made bagels before, at it was always a long, involved process… With this recipe, there is no proofing, rising, kneading, or boiling! It is so easy, you won’t believe it.

Inspired by Gina from skinnytaste.com, here’s my version of easy everything bagels!

What you’ll need:

– Food Processor or Blender

– 1 sheet of foil or cooking oil, and sheet pan for baking in oven

– 1 cup cottage cheese

– 2 Tbsp milk of choice (or water)

– 1 cup bread flour

– 2 teaspoons baking powder

– 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt, use less if using table salt

– Everything bagel seasoning

Steps:

Preheat oven to 375F. Prep your sheet pan by either spraying with cooking oil or laying foil on it.

In your food processor, blend cottage cheese until smooth. Set aside.

In a shallow dish, pour your everything bagel seasoning until it is one even layer. Set aside.

In a large bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt and whisk until combined. Add the blended cottage cheese and mix with a fork or spatula until well combined, it will look like small crumbles.

Using your clean hands, working in the bowl, knead the dough until it comes together and is smooth, tacky, but not sticky (it should not leave dough on your hand when you pull away).

Divide into 4 equal balls. In each ball, poke a hole in the center then stretch it slightly.

Press bagel shaped dough into the dish of everything seasoning on both sides, and the rolling the edges in the seasoning as well. (if the seasoning doesn’t stick, rub the bagel with melted butter and reapply seasoning.

Place seasoned bagels on the foil on the sheet pan. Bake on top rack for 25 minutes or until bagels are golden on the outsides. Let them cool/rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

Tip:

Feel free to do cinnamon sugar topping instead of everything bagel seasoning for a sweet bagel recipe. If you want to try blueberry bagels, keep in mind that the blueberries will add moisture to the dough, requiring a longer baking time, so just keep an eye on it! You can add your blueberries when adding your blended cottage cheese to the dry ingredients.
